Reflection 2/21/15

Synergy is when two things working together accomplish more than they could have done working separately. In the last week there have been many “Synger-istic” moments in SETA that I have seen or heard about. In each case team mates decided that the team accomplishing the goal was the focus. Many people in our organization are very good at putting the needs of others ahead of their own. We should consider ourselves lucky to work with such great people.

It has been a very busy two weeks in HR. We have been interviewing, screening, testing, checking, filing, and hiring. I want to say thank you to all of the Head Start Parents and SETA staff that have sat in on a screening or exam in the last few weeks. We literally could not have done it without you. Thank you Amanda Self, Mary Bonanno, Karen Gonzales, Marsha Strobe, Zenobia Henderson, Robin Blanks, James Saetern, Judy Weber, Lenda Wheeler, Monica Barber, Melanie Nicolas, Elvina Carrington, Mario Montes, Debbie Schneider, Marty Marriott, Arnie Torrecampo, Calvin Sheppard, Greg Dobson, Celia Lopez, Sabrina Rasmussen, Gilberto Basaldua, Susan Field, Patricia Marshall, Joyce Turner, and Denise Gale.

Speaking of things we have been busy doing, I also wanted to announce several recent promotions from within the SETA family:

Julie Davis- Jaffe Workforce Manager

David Hughes – Site Supervisor

Patricia Marshall – Program Officer

Shoua Vang – Site Supervisor

Mailee Xiong – Early Head Start Educator

Vamee Her Thao – Head Start Teacher

If you are interested in learning about the SETA Hiring process for internal staff I would like to invite you to register to attend one of two Webinars being held next week on February 27, 2015 at 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM. Be on the lookout for invitations on Monday of next week.

Roy Kim did the travelling this week and went out to Rancho Cordova Job Center. There he was impressed with how well maintained the center was and how attentive the staff were to the client’s needs. Brigette Sullivan in particular stood out for how diligent she was in attending to the needs of the clients. To everyone at Rancho Cordova, thank you.

Again, I want to say how regularly I impressed by the diligent hard working staff that remain positive and professional when helping so many different people.
