Reflection 5/4/15

Last week two supervisors shared with me some the great things their staff are doing. I hope you enjoy reading these as much as I did.

Marina Vista:
At Marina Vista we have some outstanding staff who always teach with intentionality, think outside of the box, and believe in providing quality care for the families we serve.

This past March Teacher Patricia Heflin reached out to the teaching staff with the idea of the children having breakfast with (yours truly 🙂 the Easter Bunny. Patricia teaches in a part-day class which speaks volumes in this situation because her class is not in operation on half days. Patricia celebrated with her class early. On April 3rd Ms. Patricia along with Barbara Atkinson and Chrisel Camacho created a beautiful Breakfast with the Bunny. The children took pictures individually, ate to classical music, the ACEs volunteers painted face, and everyone danced at the end to Farrell’s Happy song.

All the staff made this event flow well, but the three mentioned always step up and go above and beyond the call of duty for each other, the site, and the families. Thank you for taking notice and giving supervisors a voice.

Franklin:
I want to Recognize and give my warmest thank you to all staff at the Franklin Job Center for Outstanding Team Work and Customer Service.

Starting with the front desk, Yer Yang, Marian Leib, and LLuvia Maldonado, these three ladies provide prompt and excellent customer service to customers, employers, and partners; they also make sure all information is in our SacWorks System. Chone Brown, a consciences worker from start to finish taking on new grants and enrolling and case managing up to 100 customers at once while providing great Lead technical assistance to Coaches, I deeply admire and thank you!. Kelly Xiong taking the lead as my New Job Developer, Kelly Xiong along with Simone Paurley have organized employer events at the Franklin Job Center, with their dedication and invaluable efforts they come together to help our community gain employment. Dianna Nash, Marco Contreras and Donald Dukes, with their flexibility and willingness to be pro-active and provide assistance to customers, are all ways asking “where do you want me, where can I help”.  Maria Chaplin helps out where ever needed and she helps keep us motivated and smiling with her creativity and personality. Brandon Anderson, Yuliana Arroyo, Connie Torres and Christian Mehedenti think outside the box, thank you for your insight and innovative thinking which pushes our Job Center to the next level.
With the sometimes challenging customers we serve on a daily basis, please help me recognize all of these great individual People who form and create a unique Team and culture with inspiring elements that are not found in any other place.

Respectfully,

John Allen
HR Department Chief
